3rd Weekend Early BO Report : Dangal Beats PK To Become The Highest Grossing Bollywood Of All Time

It is time to celebrate and pop up champagne as the Aamir Khan has broken his own record when his wrestling drama biopic based on the life of Mahavir Singh Phogat, “Dangal” has beaten the lifetime gross of Rajukumar Hirani’s “PK” released in 2014.

“Dangal” has been well-liked by the critics and the paying audience ever since it was released on 23rd December. The wrestling drama has been creating waves and with no releases, “Dangal” performed exceddingly well at the box office. It kept on throwing its opponents like “Sultan”, “Bajrangi Bhaijaan” and now “PK” out of akhara and has now won the box office crown and will be setting new benchmark for other films going forward.

With a remarkable second week collection to a powerful figure of Rs 313.50 crores. The collections dropped on third Friday by less than 50% which showed its strong content. The collections on Friday stood at Rs 6.66 crores bringing a jaw-dropping total of Rs 320.16 crores. The icing on the cake was that business surged on its third Saturday to a solid 10.80 Crore nett(including the Hindi + Tamil + Telugu languages ) collecting a total of Rs 330.96 crores. With this figure, “Dangal” crossed the lifetime collections of Kabir Khan directed “Bajrangi Bhaijaan” which earned Rs 321 crores in its lifetime.

Now, the early trade report suggest that “Dangal” had already minted Rs 10 crores on Sunday even before the night show has ended and earned Rs 341 crores (final numbers will be updated tomorrow) which is good enough to cross the lifetime collections of “PK” which earned Rs 340.80 crores. Now, the question on everybody’s mind is whether “Dangal” be able to enter the 400 crores club. This is certainly a good news for UTV who finally delivered a hit after giving a disaster called “Mohenjodaro”.
