It is a rare scenario to see a film performing better in its second week as compared to its first week. “Dangal” is beating all odds and has been universally accepted by the audience worldwide. Despite all the controversies surrounding Aamir Khan, one thing which you cannot take away is his credibility as an actor.
Released in a total screen count of 5300 worlwide, “Dangal” has been performing exceptionally well ever since its release on 23rd December. The wrestling drama starring Aamir Khan as Mahavir Singh Phogat, has been breaking records left and right to emerge winner at the box office. With amazing total of 448.22 crores (nett. 320.16 crores) at the domestic box office, “Dangal” is on the verge of breaking Salman Khan’s “Bajrangi Bhaijaan” record. “Dangal” performed exceedingly well at the Overseas minting Rs 166.05 crores bringing the worldwide total to Rs 614.27 crores. With this total, “Dangal” succeeded in beating “Bajrangi Bhaijaan” worlwide total as well.
“Dangal” is directed by Nitesh Tiwary and was able to recover its budget of Rs 75 crores in the first week itself.
