Despite the ugly fight with CBFC and the film leaked online, “Udta Punjab” has started on flying note across 2100 in India and 300 screens in Overseas on its first day. The glowing reviews have added further charm to the film with adequate support from film fraternity and audience across.
After “Udta Punjab” have taken bumper in Punjab, Delhi/NCR, Mumbai and Bangalore earning Rs 10.05 crores on its first day, the film on drug menace in the state of Punjab grew by almost 12% on Saturday and earned a remarkable Rs 11.25 crores taking the total to Rs 21.35 crores.
Udta Punjab has met with a good start the UAE market despite its 18+ classification (Adults only rating) collecting AED 325,000 [Rs. 59.33 lacs] on 51 sites. We have to wait for the final figures tomorrow. The budget is Rs 48 Crores (Production Cost is 34 Crores + Prints & Advertising Cost is 14 Crores).
